Litter 2027

Bijou × Brontë

Our first litter, expected during 2027. Two young Ragdolls chosen for each other, and both tested on their own DNA.

Their genetic tests

The laboratory’s full reports, exactly as it issues them

Side by side, the two reports are easy to read. Bijou and Brontë are clear of all 49 diseases tested, including Ragdoll HCM and PKD: their kittens cannot inherit any of these mutations. Both are blood type A/A: no kitten can be type B, and neonatal isoerythrolysis is out of reach for this pair. An echocardiogram will complete each parent’s screening before the litter.

Wisdom Panel reports, from the Finnish laboratory Genoscoper, which also runs MyCatDNA. The details are on our Health page.

The possible coat patterns

What the two parents’ genetics allow us to expect

Colour

Seal point Ragdoll, dark brown mask and ears, blue eyes
Seal

Seal only

Bijou carries neither chocolate nor dilute: no kitten will be chocolate, blue or lilac. About one in two will carry chocolate, and one in two will carry dilute, without it showing.

Echo de Narcisse Brontë, seal tabby bicolour: striped mask
Tabby

About one kitten in two

Brontë passes on agouti half the time, Bijou never does. A tabby (lynx) kitten has a striped mask, pale “spectacles” around the eyes and a ringed tail.

Pattern

Seal mitted Ragdoll, white socks
Mitted

Bicolour or mitted

Bijou and Brontë are both bicolour, and Brontë’s sire, Zooko, is mitted. Every kitten will have white; how it is spread becomes clear over the first weeks.

Sex

Female

Males and females

An even chance for each kitten. The number of kittens and the split will only be known at birth.

That makes eight possible combinations, each as a male or a female:

From kitten to adult

Save your place

The waiting list is free and without commitment. Tell us what you are hoping for, male or female, bicolour or mitted, tabby or not, and we will write to you as soon as the litter is announced. No priority can be bought.

Nothing is guaranteed before birth: the proportions on this page are probabilities, not promises. As for the date, it will depend on both parents’ health checks.
